Mirth & A Message
provides clean, wholesome comedy followed by encouraging
messages from God’s heart to His children – from ages 6
to 106!
We
ask the host church to provide a musician, quartet or
band to play two songs inbetween each “character”
personified by Philip T. Hicks.
Following an introduction by a church leader, Philip T.
Hicks performs ten minutes of his standup comedy shtick,
“It’s hard to be a hick in a hi-tech world!”
Two
songs are played or sung (while Philip makes a costume
change)
Grandpa Dudley Hicks then comes out to perform for ten
minutes
Two
songs are played (while Philip changes costume)
Elvis
Hicks then appears and following a couple of minutes of
humor. A service station owner from Tupelo, MS
(birthplace of Elvis Presley), Elvis Hicks claims “he
taught young Elvis everything he knows before he run off
to Memphis and become uh star! Elvis Hicks emphatically
announces that he “is still making people stars” then
selects three couples from the audience….teaches the men
how to wiggle like Elvis Presley before asking their
wives to assist him to making their hubbies “look” like
Elvis! After the three men don Elvis wigs, glasses and
scarves the real fun begins…..as they all demonstrate
the moves of Elvis Presley! Each new “Elvis” then sings
to his wife (actually, they just lip sync as Philip
sings!) The crowd goes wild!
Two
more songs are sung (while Philip changes) to Cuz’n
Philburt & Wilburt tha Pig.
(This
character combo is ONLY done if the pig is flown to the
venue; If pig is not flown in then this combo is
skipped and programs ends with the next “character” that
is, the Evangelist!
Audience members are invited on-stage to “assist” with
pig tricks. Cuz’n Philburt then orchestrates a “kiss
the pig” fundraiser and the monies are donated to the
chosen recipient)
Two
more songs are sung (while Philip changes into his
preaching suit) followed by a powerful :40 second DVD
clip that shows Philip’s transition from the pig sty to
the pulpit!
The
house lights come back up to reveal Philip T. Hicks –
the EVANGELIST – who then ministers from a JOYFUL &
THANKFUL heart at having been miraculously delivered
from a Life + 15-Year Prison Sentence, as well as other
far worse prisons (bondages). His message encourages
FREEDOM to captives “on both sides of the prison walls”
and for us “never to give up on the prodigals in our
families” as constant intercession by his parents did
NOT return void!
Philip’s first book and life story, entitled “The
Cross & the .357 Magnum” is made available following
each program. Proceeds help to send Philip back into
area prisons to minister freedom to the incarcerated
church!
