Philip T. Hicks, as you might expect, is a man of many talents…and is especially gifted in choosing a wife! Married in 1992 to the former Patti Lee Redeker of Cupertino, CA, this dynamic duo truly believe in the benefits of laughter! Thus, they chose the name of their business to be A Merry Heart! Embracing the Proverb “A Merry Heart Doeth Good Like A Medicine”, their mission is to use entertainment as a vehicle to drive home healthy messages!

After graduating with an undergraduate degree in Television & Journalism, Philip went on to study Acting and has used his skills on both radio and television, doing promotions and voice-overs. His ad lib skills have led to over 15 years as a professional entertainer.

An ordained Minister from the Rock of Roseville (CA), Philip is committed to allow the love of Jesus Christ to flow through Him into as many lives as possible! A published author, his first book, entitled “The Cross & the .357 Magnum” has been endorsed by many, including Chuck Colson, Merlin Carothers, Dr. Glenn Cole and Pastors Francis Anfuso and Sam Huddleston, Reverend Art Hallett, and Pastor Francis Anfuso! Using his book as a message platform, Philip ministers in churches, prisons and many other arenas nationwide!

Patti completed an undergraduate degree in Recreational Therapy before working for several years with the physically and emotionally challenged. She continues to serve special needs children while working as a substitute Teacher’s assistant in the Springfield, MO schools. She also occasionally clowns as “PattiCakes” – painting faces and sculpting balloons for birthdays, carnivals and many other events.

Patti is also very gifted at teaching face-painting and balloon sculpture, and does so to equip others for ministry and entertainment opportunities!

As of January 15, 2008 their son, Cody, turned 9 years old! While not yet ready for the stage (only if he has a desire!), he’s often surprised them at the conclusion of an event – when he grabs a microphone and announces “Thank you for coming today! Hope you enjoyed the show!”
